So you are thinking of buying a new smartphone? There are many factors to be taken for consideration here, but only one will remain no matter what your budget is; iOS or Android. They both offer great options and features and they look the same apart from the brand and price, however, once you scratch the surface and dig deeper you’ll notice that there are some key differences. The first thing you would want to look at is the hardware of both types of phones. Only Apple manufactures iPhones, which means they have complete control over the hardware and software and how they combine together to give a functioning device. On the other hand, google develops the android software and many manufacturers use it with their own skin to the UI, this means that android phones are different in size, weight, and style. iPhones don’t have a budget line, which means that their hardware is always top notch. Cheaper android phones are more prone to problems, because they are cheaper duh! There is no winner on this one, it’s a tie.
When we talk software, we are talking updates. Once again, apple has all the updates for its iOS released on all devices all at once. As for Android, different updates differ in date from one manufacturer to another, because google is the software provider. This might look like a win for iOS, however, with the new android one phone line ups, you got a pure stock version of the OS that is always up to date. Apple supports older phones longer than android devices though, so maybe, just maybe, the win here can go to iOS.
This one is a tie straight forward. It depends on the type of apps you want to pick and their ratings and reviews. Apple’s control might seem too tight at first, however, it’s just for security. As for Android, sometimes you’ll come across weird apps that are insecure or fake but that’s basically because you don’t read the reviews. Yes, it’s a tie ladies and gentlemen.
Apple’s very own iOS might look like the winner here, but bear in mind that there are certain cloud breaches that went viral. It really doesn’t matter which one you pick, if someone is determined enough to get your information, trust that they will.
